Indian Army totally geared up to face any situationinDokalam:EasternCommandAbhay Krishna of the Eastern Command said on Saturday.

The Army is totally geared up to face any situation in the Doklam sector and any mischief will be dealt with “properly”, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief of the Eastern Command Lt. Gen. Abhay Krishna said on Saturday.

He was asked about China reportedly stationing its troops in Doklam, where the two countries were locked in a standoff for over two months earlier this year after the Chinese army tried to build a road in the area claimed by Indian-ally Bhutan.
would allow China to cut off its access to its northeastern states. The standoff ended in September after the two countries mutually agreed to withdraw their troops from the area.
Stating that he would not name anyone specifically, Lt. Gen. Krishna said the Indian Army is in high spirits and ready to take on any mischief.
“We are totally prepared, geared up; let anybody do any mischief and he will get it back nice and proper,” he told reporters here.
Lt. Gen. Krishna was speaking at the Eastern Command headquarter at Fort William here after a wreath-laying ceremony on ‘Vijay Diwas’ to commemorate India’s victory over Pakistan in 1971, which led to the liberation of Bangladesh.

The road building effort by China and presence of its troops at the tri-junction between India, China and Bhutan had led to an eyeball-to-eyeball face off between New Delhi and Beijing for 73 days from June 16.
Reports have said that China still has troops stationed a few hundred metres from the tri-junction in Doklam sector.
Asked if the reports were verified, Lt Gen Krishna said a lot has been stated about them and he has nothing more to add.
“The Indian Army is always in very high spirits, we are always ready to take on any mischief by anybody. I am not going to name anybody specifically.
“Territorial integrity is ingrained in our blood and for that we will go to any extent to ensure the territorial integrity,” he said.
Asked if India was prepared for a two-front war, Lt Gen Krishna said the country was “undoubtedly” ready for any eventuality.

Exit polls predict BJP victory in Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh elections

NEW DELHI: The BJP is expected to win the Gujarat and Himachal Pradesh elections, according to various exit polls conducted by media organisations.

Almost all the exit polls have predicted that the BJP will retain Gujarat and is expected to get more than 100 seats. The BJP is in power in Gujarat for more than two decades.

In Himachal Pradesh, a state with high anti-incumbency where the electorate has chosen the Congress and BJP alternately in Assembly polls, the exit polls projected a clear majority for the saffron party, unseating the Virbhadra Singh-led Congress government.

🔜 CLICK HERE MORE BOLLYWAD NEWS
Today's Chanakya gave BJP 135 seats in Gujarat and predicted 47 for the Congress, 14 less than its tally in the current Assembly. The exit poll also predicted a vote share of 49 per cent for the BJP and 38 per cent for the Congress party.

In the 182-member Gujarat Assembly, a party needs 92 seats to form the government. In the 2012 Assembly polls, the BJP had won 115 seats while the Congress managed to get 61 and others six.

India TV-VMR survey also forecast a BJP win, with the party likely to clinch anywhere between 108 and 118 seats. The Congress, it said, could win 61 to 71 seats. The survey said the BJP could garner 48 per cent of the votes polled, the Congress 41 and others 11 per cent.

In Himachal Pradesh, the exit polls predicted the BJP's return to power with a comfortable majority.

The Times Now-VMR and Zee News-Axis exit polls predicted identical tally of 51 seats for the BJP in the 68-member Assembly. A party needs 35 seats for a simple majority in the House. The Times Now-VMR poll gave 16 seats to the Congress and one to other, while the Zee News-Axis poll forecast 17 seats for the current ruling party.

The Aaj Tak-Axis exit poll gave 47-55 seats to the saffron party, 13-20 to the Congress and 0-2 to others. Among other exit polls, the News X survey predicted 42-50 seats for the BJP and 18-24 for the Congress.
The CVoter predicted 41 seats for BJP and 25 seats for Congress in Himachal.

Congress had returned to power in Himachal Pradesh in 2012 pocketing 36 seats, marginally more than the half-way mark, while the BJP secured 26. The others had bagged the remaining six. The Congress was, however, skeptical about the predictions, with party spokesperson Shobha Oza saying exit polls have proved wrong in elections before, and claiming it will emerge victorious.

"I don't know how much you trust the exit polls. We have seen exit polls in Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Punjab. All of them proved to be wrong. So, how much can one trust the exit polls. "We will wait for the 18th for the real results. Let's not take these exit polls too seriously. We have seen them go wrong in many states in the past," Oza said. "Definitely we are winning in Gujarat," she said. The BJP was confident about a landslide victory.

"We will register landslide victory. In UP, exit polls had said the BJP would win between 164 and 185 seats (out of 403), but we bagged 325. Exit polls are not exact polls. We are going to register landslide victory," he asserted.

Gujarat Elections 2017 LIVE: 68% Turnout in First Phase, Says Election Commission

Sixty eight per cent polling was recorded in the first phase of Gujarat polls, senior deputy election commissioner Unmesh Sinha said on Saturday. Eighty nine seats out of the total of 182 Assembly constituencies went to polls in the first phase with prominent candidates like Chief Minister Vijay Rupani (Rajkot West), Congress' Shaktisinh Gohil (Mandvi) and Paresh Dhanani (Amreli) in the fray. Allegations of EVM tampering also surfaced at Porbandar, Surat, Jetpur and Navsari and the Election Commission has ordered a probe. Meanwhile, the action shifted to campaigning for Phase two. PM Narendra Modi attacked the Congress for a tweet by one Salman Nizami, who he claimed was an aide of Rahul Gandhi. The Congress, meanwhile, denied knowing him.

Finance Minister Arun Jaitley has termed the Congress party's Gujarat poll manifesto as 'constitutionally and financially impossible' and said the promises like quota to Patidar and farm loan waiver can never be fulfilled. On the day Gujarat went in for the first phase of polling, Jaitley said, "Having no model of development, the Congress party's manifesto is one of fiscal impossibility. The total revenue earned by the state is about Rs 90,000 crore per annum. The Congress promises a tax waiver of Rs 20,000 crore."

Zero voting was recorded at Gajadi village in Morbi district of Gujarat on Saturday as the locals, fed up with water shortage, boycotted polling. While long lines were seen outside polling booths in Saurashtra and South Gujarat in the first phase of Assembly polls, none among the 1,000 registered voters in Gajadi turned up to cast vote, officials said.

First phase of polling has ended, we are extremely grateful to EC, the officials & voters for peaceful & successful completion of voting. I'm sure, as per the reports that are coming, that BJP is going to register a landslide victory: Arun Jaitley
Modi government takes from the poor, gives to a handful of the rich: Rahul in Vadnagar.
Rahul Gandhi attacks the BJP for not releasing a manifesto for Gujarat. “We have been working on our manifesto for the last three months. We went to all sections of society and asked people what they want their government to do. We don’t talk about ourselves. We talk about what they did in the last 22 years and what Congress will do in next five years,” Rahul says in Vadnagar. Taking the fight directly to Modi, he says the Prime Minister has stopped talking about development and corruption. “He tries to distract the people. But whenever he tries doing that, we bring him back to the issues,” Rahul adds.
Addressing a rally in Mehsana's Vadnagar, Rahul Gandhi says that 90 per cent of Narendra Modi’s speeches have been about Modi himself. “90% samay unhone apne aap pe bhashan dia, Narendra Modi ne Narendra Modi ke baare mein bhashan dia, aur kuch bacha hi nahi! But this election is not about Modi Ji or me, it is about Gujarat's future,” he says.

The highest voting percentage has been recorded in Navsari district at 67.56 per cent, closely followed by Morbi at 67.37 per cent. Namada district has also recorded a voting percentage of more than 65 per cent. Here is the full list of voter turnout in the 19 districts:

WhatsApp Business Account Features Officially Revealed

WhatsApp seems set to launch a standalone app for businesses, which will feature both verified and non-verified profiles. In a new FAQ published on its website, WhatsApp has detailed the Business accounts, including key features and how to distinguish between verified and non-verified profiles.
In Asia, organisations have been using WhatsApp as an informal means of coordinating with their clients and customers for the past few years due to the massive popularity of the app. Earlier this year, the business-focused Verified Profiles was officially rolled out, allowing companies (with accounts featuring a tick mark as a sign of authentication) to communicate with users.
The Facebook-owned company says in the FAQ, "While chatting with businesses, you can check your contact's profile to see which type of account they're using. A verified account has a green checkmark badge in its profile." It adds, "A business account with a grey question mark badge in its profile means the account is using the WhatsApp Business app but hasn't been confirmed nor verified by WhatsApp."
The much talked-about Business app is currently being tested by a private group of testers and the company will introduce it as WhatsApp Business - a standalone app.
Its description available on Play Store read: "As a test partner for 'WhatsApp Business', you have early access to a wide range of new features that we've built with you in mind. As you experiment with what this new app has to offer, please share your experiences with us so that we can improve the product."
WhatsApp Business is different from the regular WhatsApp. The logo of the app has been changed from the calling symbol to 'B' inside the green conversation bubble. However, after downloading, the app looks the same as WhatsApp, barring the title bar that says WhatsApp Business. The app has interesting features such as auto responses, creating a business profile, chat migration, and analytics.
"We also provide you with the tools you need to control your experience with businesses. You can block business accounts and report them as spam at any time, right within the chat," WhatsApp said in the new FAQ.
Before launching the standalone Business app, the new FAQ, first spotted by the fan website WABetaInfo, aims to clear doubts so that no such fake app gets downloaded.

TVS Apache RR 310 Launched In India; Priced At Rs. 2.05 Lakh

The TVS Apache RR 310 is the top-of-the-line motorcycle model from TVS Motor Company, and is the first full-faired entry-level sportbike from the Hosur-based two-wheeler manufacturer.

The TVS Apache RR 310, the flagship motorcycle from TVS Motor Company, has been launched at a price of Rs. 2.05 lakh (ex-showroom). The Apache RR 310 has been in development for over two years now, and is a progression from the TVS Akula concept showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo. The Apache RR 310 has been positioned as an everyday, entry-level sportbike, which will serve multiple roles - that of a commuter, touring motorcycle and even occasional track bike. The RR 310 shares its underpinnings with the BMW G 310 R, a motorcycle also manufactured at TVS Motor Company's Hosur plant, and a result of collaboration between TVS and BMW Motorrad. Bookings for the new Apache RR 310 will commence by the end of December, while deliveries are set to begin by the end of the month.
The Apache RR 310 is powered by a four-stroke, four-valve, single-cylinder, reverse-inclined 312 cc engine which makes 33.5 bhp at 9700 rpm and 27.3 Nm of peak torque at 7700 rpm. The reverse inclined engine has helped centralise the bike's mass with the engine closer to the front wheel, but a longer swingarm, yet with a short wheelbase. The steel trellis frame uses a split chassis design and is said to offer higher dynamic stiffness and better control and handling.

The TVS Apache RR 310 uses a range of top-notch components, including upside down Kayaba front forks, and a rear monoshock, also from Kayaba. Braking is handled by a 300 mm petal disc at the front, gripped by a radial caliper from Bybre and a 240 mm rear disc, with dual-channel ABS. The RR 310 employs a full-digital, vertically stacked instrument panel with multiple information display, including a lap timer. Lighting is taken care of by LED projector headlamps, an LED taillight, and even LED turn signals. Switchgear is high quality too, and uses sealed and non-contact switch modules, and also features a hazard light.

The bike's design was done in-house by the TVS design team, and the full fairing was designed after wind tunnel measurements for benchmarking aerodynamic targets and also employing computer fluid dynamics. TVS says as many as 200 different CFD iterations were done to achieve best-in-class aerodynamic performance. This has resulted in the bike having a better top speed than even the BMW G 310 R. TVS says actual top speed measured during testing is 163 kmph. According to TVS, TVS Racing's decades-long racing experience was employed in the development of the Apache RR 310, and real users tested and gave feedback on the bike's dynamics and performance during the development process.

The TVS Apache RR 310 is set to change the entry-level performance motorcycle segment with a superbly built, beautifully designed motorcycle with superior engineering. The Apache RR 310 will go up against a range of motorcycles in the domestic market, from the Mahindra Mojo, Bajaj Dominar, KTM 390 Duke, KTM RC 390 and the Benelli 302 R. The bike is positioned as a global product from the TVS stable and will be available in a single-spec across global markets.

US supreme court allows Trump travel ban targeting six mainly Muslim countries The ban also covers people from North Korea and a selection of senior officials from Venezuela.

The US supreme court on Monday allowed President Donald Trump’s revised ban on travel that prevents residents of eight countries, including six mainly Muslim nations, from travelling to America even as lower courts continue to grapple with the legality of the measure.
The US supreme court on Monday allowed President Donald Trump’s revised ban on travel that prevents residents of eight countries, including six mainly Muslim nations, from travelling to America even as lower courts continue to grapple with the legality of the measure.
The ban will prevent most citizens from Iran, Yemen, Chad, Somalia, Libya, Syria, North Korea and some groups from Venezuela from entering the United States.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations, the leading body representing American Muslims, slammed the order as “Muslim Ban 3.0”.
“This decision ignores the very real human consequences to American citizens and their families abroad imposed by President Trump’s Muslim Ban 3.0,” the council’s national litigation director Lena Masri said in a statement.
The justices, two of whom disagreed with the order, assigned no reasons for allowing the federal government’s application for a stay against an injunction by a lower court. But they urged lower courts dealing with challenge to move swiftly.
Each of the nine judges wrote their own decision.
This is the third iteration of the travel ban Trump had first issued just days after assuming office in January. It ran into legal trouble, protests and chaos at airports from the minute it went into effect.
The second order, which was narrower, met the same fate. The third was narrower still and allowed many exemptions for the relatives of permanent residents in the US. It was unveiled in September and drew immediate challenges in federal appeals courts in Richmond, Virginia and San Francisco, California.
Plaintiffs argued that the measure targeted Muslims in violation of the US Constitution and did not advance security goals as the government claimed.
The challengers convinced the lower courts to put implementation on hold while they and government lawyers fight out the legality of the policy.
But the Trump administration, which says the ban is crucial to protect US national security and deter terror attacks, secured strong support from the Supreme Court to let the government move ahead while the appeals continue.
The ban does not impact all the eight countries uniformly. It applies, for instance, only to a small group of citizens of Venezuela who are working for one of the five government entities facing US sanctions, and their families. And exchange students from Iran will continue to be allowed into the US.
Trump had touted these restrictions as steps necessary to secure the mainland from terrorists and the countries put on the ban list were those that couldn’t be trusted to vet their citizens, or share information or intelligence about them.
After Monday’s court ruling the department of homeland security said, “The administration’s common sense travel restrictions on countries that do not meet basic security standards and do not share critical information with us about terrorists and criminals are designed to defend the homeland and keep Americans safe.”
When Trump last week retweeted three video clips from an extremist British group that vilified Muslims, his critics said it supported the idea that his immigration policies were anti-Muslim.
“President Trump’s anti-Muslim prejudice is no secret -- he has repeatedly confirmed it, including just last week on Twitter,” said Omar Jadwat, director of the Immigrants’ Rights Project at the American Civil Liberties Union.
“It’s unfortunate that the full ban can move forward for now, but this order does not address the merits of our claims. We continue to stand for freedom, equality, and for those who are unfairly being separated from their loved ones.”

Centre May Give 3-6 Months More for Aadhaar-PAN Linking If SC Rules in Favour, Says Official

The current deadline for linking the 10-digit alphanumeric PAN (Permanent Account Number), issued by the Income Tax Department, with Aadhaar is December 31. The government has indicated to the Supreme Court that it is willing to extend this deadline toMarch 31, 2018.

New Delhi: The government will give 3-6 months to link the biometric identifier Aadhaar with PAN in case the apex court rules in its favour, after which it may cancel all PANs that have not been linked, a senior official has said.

The cancellation will weed out all duplicate PANs and make benami transactions void, the official said.

The current deadline for linking the 10-digit alphanumeric PAN (Permanent Account Number), issued by the Income Tax Department, with Aadhaar is December 31. The government has indicated to the Supreme Court that it is willing to extend this deadline toMarch 31, 2018.

As of November, 13.28 crore out of 33 crore PANs have been linked to the 12-digit Aadhaar, he said. "The linking exercise is aimed at eliminating duplicate PAN cards which are being used by unscrupulous elements to avoid paying due taxes," the official said.

Not linking PAN with Aadhaar even after the grace period will render the PAN invalid, he said. "We can give 3 to 6-month window after December 31 for the linking," he said.

Last month, the government had told the court, which is hearing petitions against making Aadhaar linking to bank accounts, mobile phone numbers and others mandatory, that it is willing to extend the deadline toMarch 31, 2018.

This year, the government made the quoting of Aadhaar mandatory for filing income tax returns (ITRs) as well as obtaining a new PAN.

"The duplicate PAN cards are the ones which are creating a major danger to the economy. They are the ones who are using this duplicate PAN for opening bank accounts and then they are transacting and they are not filing returns. So we need to worry about them," the official said.

Section 139 AA (2) of the Income Tax Act says that every person having PAN as on July 1, 2017 and eligible to obtain Aadhaar, must intimate his Aadhaar number to the tax authorities.

ðŸ”œ click here more bollywad news
As the case is pending in the Supreme Court, the government is not enforcing the provision, the official said. "There will be a time when, once Supreme Court clears it, we would like to give a date by which all have to link with Aadhaar and remaining will be cancelled.

"We will give a 3-6 month window... But after that the PAN, if it is not linked, will be cancelled. Our purpose is, all duplicate PANs should be eliminated which are not linked to Aadhaar card. So, all the Benami transactions will go," the official said.

The Supreme Court is hearing petitions challenging the government's decision on Aadhaar and has said it may consider setting up a constitution bench to hear pleas challenging the Centre's move to make Aadhaar card mandatory for availing various services and benefits of welfare schemes.
